Pink Yellow Blue – Adelaide's premiere fundraising gala event

The Pink Yellow Blue gala has been supporting advances in cancer research and patient care for over 34 years.

Thanks to your generosity, this iconic event has funded world-first discoveries, innovative projects and improved care for patients and families affected by a range of cancers.

This annual tradition started with one remarkable woman, Lyn Wrigley. Lyn was a wife, mother, grandmother, and nurse, who spent most of her career counselling and comforting patients with cancer.

Sadly, she fought her own courageous battle with breast cancer, but she wanted to leave something behind to help others and, in her words, “have a great time doing it”.

This night has been known by many names throughout its history, including The Lyn Wrigley Trust Dinner, The Breast Cancer Research Fund Annual Winter Ball, The Pink Charity Auction Dinner- Dance, The Pink Ribbon Ball, and in 2010 it evolved into the Pink Yellow Blue gala ball – to recognise and include all cancer types.

Together, with the generosity of the South Australian community we raise vital funds to support the leading clinicians and researchers at Flinders to make the next big breakthrough in cancer research and provide the best possible care.

While Lyn sadly lost her own battle with cancer, her legacy lives on and she would be proud to know that the event she started all those years ago continues to help the team of cancer researchers and specialists at Flinders fighting for those in need.

Cancer has touched most of our lives in some way.

More than 2,500 patients are diagnosed with cancer each year at Flinders, and a total of 45,000 people attend appointments at Flinders for cancer-related care.

Researchers and clinicians are working tirelessly to improve outcomes for people with cancer, the Pink Yellow Blue gala raises vital funds to help them do this work.

Generosity from the Pink Yellow Blue gala supports the leading cancer researchers and clinicians across Flinders University and the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network to discover the next breakthrough and provide the best treatment and care for people with cancer, and their families.
